
Bar Operator, 38, Stabbed To Death Following Alleged Chieftaincy Dispute
In the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region, Adum Afrancho, where a 38-year-old bar owner was allegedly assassinated over a chieftaincy issue, there is an uncomfortable calm.
Witnesses claim that when Bright Yeboah attempted to defend his younger brother, Kwesi Brefo, a member of a known faction in the conflict, stabbed him numerous times with a knife.
At the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, his younger brother Kwame Darko, who also suffered many stab wounds, is battling for his life.
Six people have reportedly been taken into custody concerning the homicide, according to a statement from the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
The late Yeboah’s home was filled with weeping and depressing feelings.
The family was shocked by the recent events that resulted in his death.
Mr. Yeboah ran a bar before he passed away.
Atta Poku, his grandfather, described the events surrounding his passing.
An eyewitness reported that Mr. Darko, the deceased’s brother, was found stabbed to death just a few meters from the deceased’s tavern on Sunday at about 8:00 am.
Although he attempted to save his brother, the dead was fatally stabbed multiple times as well.
The two were reportedly involved in a chieftaincy conflict, according to sources.
Since then, the deceased’s body has been placed in the morgue, while his brother is currently being treated at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
