Atopa Dance Festival takes off Today
Festivals are ways of bringing people together under a common umbrella of unity.
The Ghanaian society is noted for numerous festivals all with distinctive meaning and significance notable amongst these festivals is the Atopa Dance Festival celebrated by the people of Gomoa Fetteh.
The Akosolontaba Dance popularly known as the Atopa dance was introduced by the traditional rulers of the Gomoa Land.
The dance is characterized by both young and old swinging their waist to melodious tunes to attract their male counterparts with no ill motive attached to it.
Speaking to the media, some natives of the land noted that they were very ready for the dance and promised to swing their waist till night.
The Omankrado of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Kwesi Quansah, said Nananom are also ready for the dance and called on visitors to prepare their waist before coming.
