
Apprentice Allegedly Shot By Police In Upper East Region
The family of an apprentice who was allegedly shot in the upper East region by the police has given in-depth details about the horrifying incident.
According to the victim’s family, their relative sustained two gunshots from the police after she refused to stop at the police checkpoint for inspection when stopped.
Speaking in an interview with Accra based media outlet, the brother of the victim, Godwin Wuni, revealed that the bullet that bore through her body is yet to be removed.
Nevertheless, she was admitted to Bolgatanga hospital for more than 24 hours A situation, Mr. Wuni said, has generated fear amongst the family since they might lose her.
“For us, we are doubting, we are still afraid because we don’t know what is happening.” Mr. Wuni said.
The Public Relations Officer of the Upper East Police command Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) David Otchere – Fianko said, the incident resulted from the motor rider crashing the barricade and they are investigating the incident.
