The emergence of monkeypox in five districts of the country, according to investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, will be the latest excuse utilized by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration.

According to him, the administration’s usual COVID-19 and Russia-Ukraine war justifications have become stale.

In a post sighted by VimNewsGhana, Manasseh wrote, “Monkeypox will give the Akufo-Addo administration another excuse since Covid-19 and Ukraine are becoming stale.”

The Akufo-Addo administration has attributed the country’s economic crisis on a number of issues, including the Covid-19 outbreak and Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine.

On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, President Akufo-Addo delivered the State of the Nation Address, or SoNA, in which he regretted the negative impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on the country.
