About 30 Students Hospitalized After Police Fire Tear Gas

Over 30 pupils from Kumasi’s Islamic Senior High School have been hospitalized after police allegedly sprayed tear gas at them during a protest.

On Monday morning, children demonstrated in support of the proposal for speed ramps to be built on the road in front of the school.

Last week, one of their professors was reportedly struck by a speeding automobile, prompting the rally on Monday.

Over 30 students who collapsed during the protest have been hospitalized and are presently undergoing care, according to VimNews sources on the school grounds.

During the protest, the police also used pepper spray on some of the kids, according to some of the students.

The police has released a statement:
