4 Robbers Shot Dead By Police
On the Bekwai-Cape Coast Road, four suspected armed robbers tragically perished after a gunfight with the Highway Police.
Reports state that there were five robbers present when the police opened fire on them, but one of them was able to flee.
The event occurred when the police received a tip-off about a robbery that was taking place, and when they arrived at the location, the putative criminals escaped while the police gave pursuit.
The police then engaged the suspected thieves in a gun battle, which resulted in the deaths of four of them.
The four people died there, while one other managed to flee, according to Kofi Frimpong, an assemblyman for the Essumeja electoral district, who verified the tragedy on the radio.
According to him, “they were robbing between the Bekwai and Fomena area. They were running away when the police gave them a chase. They took a turn from the highway into the bush to hide, but there was an exchange of gunshots and four of the five armed robbers were shot dead. The fifth one went deeper into the bush and escaped”.
He continued by saying that following the police operations, he hurried to the neighborhood residents and warned them to keep an eye out for a strange man in their midst and promptly reported him to the police.
The youngster is still having no luck in their search for the fifth alleged robber in the neighboring areas.
He continued, “Some members of the community are actively searching, but as of right now, we have not discovered him.
