The Northern Regional Police Command has launched an operation at various criminal hideouts in the Tamale Metropolis, particularly the forest.
About 30 suspected criminals were apprehended from various hideouts in Tamale as a result of the operation.
About 40 motorcycles and some leaves suspected of being Indian hemp were seized by police.
The operation is the result of recent criminal actions in the metropolis, including car snatching, house robberies, and highway robberies, among others.
Supt. Bernard Baba Ananga, the Northern Regional Crime Officer, told the media that they believe the hideouts are areas where criminals use to commit crimes in the metropolis, which is why they targeted them.
According to him, their goal is to ensure that present criminal activities in the metropolis are addressed so that inhabitants may live in peace and carry out their daily activities.
He stated that the arrested individuals will be screened and that anyone linked to criminal activity would be charged.
