
2 Killed At Mining Site
Two miners have perished after a heap of sand caved in on them while looking for gold in the Ashanti Region’s Adumanu, near the mining town of Obuasi.
Mallam Salifu, 45, and Mallam Seidu, 50, both working at Adumanu Community Mining, were recognized as the two deceased victims by the police.
According to the authorities, the two had gone to the Adumanu mine location around 4:30 p.m. last Friday, May 6, 2022, to prospect for gold when the terrible incident occurred.
A small-scale miner named Peter Prah, 39, reported the accident to the police, claiming that the two were his employees.
After the event, Salifu and Seidu were brought to the Obuasi Government Hospital for treatment, but they died while undergoing treatment, according to him.
The two lifeless bodies were put at the morgue for preservation and autopsy, according to the article, and authorities were still investigating the reason of the accident.
