
1 Dead, 4 Others Injured In Fire Fighters Accident
Following a firefighter accident on the Kwame Danso-Atebubu route in the Bono East Region, a firefighter of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has been reported dead.
After the accident, four others at Kwame Danso are fighting for their life.
The deadly accident occurred around 10:40 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2022, while fire tender number 717 and the five fire officers were responding to a distress fire call in Atebubu.
According to information obtained by DGN Online, the fatal accident occurred when a motorcyclist irresponsibly crossed the Fire Truck.
In an attempt to avoid colliding with and killing the motorcyclist, the fire truck lost its balance and somersaulted three times on the roadway, ending on its roof in a nearby bush, severely injuring the vehicle.
Some passing motorists assisted in transporting the critically injured crew members to the Atebubu Government Hospital.
Four members of the critically injured crew were taken to Techiman Holy Family Hospital, where one was pronounced dead.
The other members of the crew are doing fine in the Atebubu Government Hospital.
