1 Dead, 3 Others Injured In Military Car Accident
The Custom Barrier in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region has reported one person dead and three others injured in an accident involving a military truck at Zebilla.
The truck is said traveling from Bolga to Bawku and all of a sudden jumped into shops and containers along the roadside.
Eyewitnesses indicate that the truck hit a pothole which led the driver to lose control and set off the road.
A motor rider, who was riding in front of the military truck, was hit from behind, killing him instantly. Three military men were injured in the process.
Some sellers run for their lives after the truck comes into their shops before shouting for help.
Motorbikes parked along the roadside were also destroyed.
However, the incident caused great traffic congestion but the Zebilla District Police Command in collaboration with National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the soldiers present at the scene manage to control the traffic.
Moreover, the residents of Zebilla are calling on the contractor, Quiroz Galvao, working on the Bolga- Pulmakom road to immediately fix speed ramps in the township to prevent such accidents.
